Taking care of your personal data

Privacy & cookies

This page explains in plain language which personal data Marjon uses, why it is needed, and what choices and rights you have.

Last updated: 23 July 2026

Who is responsible?

Marjon Cortenraad is responsible for processing personal data through this website and during initial contact. For privacy questions, email info@marjoncortenraad.nl.

Which data is processed?

  • Name, email address and, if provided, telephone number.
  • The subject and content of your contact message.
  • Appointments and correspondence needed for an introductory meeting or support.
  • Details about an E-book request, the sending of the download link and when that link is used.
  • Your separate choice about receiving the newsletter, including the date and source of that consent.
  • Language and display preferences stored only in your website session.
  • Limited technical data needed for security and the proper operation of the website.

Health information

A contact message may include information about brain injury, health or recovery. Health data is sensitive personal data. Only share what is needed to understand your question.

If your message contains health information, Marjon uses it only with your explicit consent and solely to answer your question and discuss an appropriate next step.

Why is data used?

  • To answer your question and contact you.
  • To send the requested E-book by email and record whether the download link has been used.
  • To send the newsletter when you have given separate consent.
  • To prepare and provide an introductory meeting, quotation or support.
  • To comply with statutory administrative obligations.
  • To prevent abuse and keep the website secure.

E-book and newsletter

For the free E-book, Marjon uses your name and email address to send a personal download link that is valid for a limited time. Opening the link confirms that the email address can receive messages.

Joining the newsletter is optional and separate from requesting the E-book. You will receive the E-book even if you do not select the newsletter option. You can withdraw your newsletter consent at any time.

Retention periods

A standalone contact request is normally kept for no longer than twelve months after the last contact. If an engagement or support relationship begins, data is kept as long as needed for the agreement and statutory records. Tax records may be kept for seven years.

Data is deleted sooner when no longer needed, unless a legal obligation or ongoing dispute requires longer retention.

Who is data shared with?

Marjon does not sell your data. Data is shared only with providers needed for hosting, email, administration or security, or when required by law. Appropriate privacy and security agreements are made with processors.

Cookies and local preferences

The website uses necessary session cookies to remember the language, acquired brain injury version, theme and text settings. These cookies support the chosen website experience and are not used for advertising or cross-site tracking.

With your permission, the website uses Google Analytics to collect general visitor statistics, such as which pages are viewed. Google Analytics is only loaded after you explicitly choose analytics cookies.

You can refuse analytics cookies and continue using the website normally. Your choice is remembered for up to six months and can always be changed through “My display”.

Your privacy rights

You may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or transfer of your data. You may withdraw consent at any time and object in certain situations. Email info@marjoncortenraad.nl. Marjon normally responds within one month.

You may also lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority.

Security and changes

Marjon takes appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data. No digital transfer is entirely risk-free. This statement may be updated when the website, services or law changes.
