My story
What began as a Saturday morning when I felt unwell turned out to be a brain injury. In 2008 and 2010, I was affected three times in total. I developed aphasia and the right side of my body was about thirty per cent paralysed.
Five days in hospital were followed by five intensive weeks in a rehabilitation clinic. I could go home at weekends. Home felt familiar, yet I no longer felt like myself. The spontaneous, energetic young woman I knew seemed far away.
“You do not need seventeen years to discover what I learned through experience.”
Marjon Cortenraad
Starting again
Cooking, planning, cycling and driving: everyday activities you rarely think about had to be relearned. I often slept for two and a half to three hours during the day. Afterwards, family life with two young children simply continued.
The help of my family and parents-in-law gave me space to recover. In 2010, we temporarily moved to Turkey. The warmth, light and different rhythm helped me. Slowly, confidence in my body and in life returned.
Through Pilates, movement and a healthier lifestyle, I greatly reduced my physical limitations. Recovery was neither quick nor linear. It taught me to respect my limits while continuing to notice what was still possible.
Why I do what I do
My passion is helping others grow. I do not decide what your recovery should look like. Instead, we discover together what suits you.
I know the fatigue, uncertainty and frustration of acquired brain injury from the inside.
I trained as a health therapist, lifestyle and vitality coach, grocery coach and NLP practitioner. I am also studying to become an NEI therapist.
I offer a safe environment where nothing needs to be made prettier than it is, while we keep looking at what remains possible.
“The greatest mistake you can make in life is to be continually fearing you will make one.”

My mission for you
My mission is to help you make use of your possibilities and achieve goals that fit your life. I know how difficult living with limitations can be. I also know how much strength you can have to rediscover confidence and enjoyment.
I want to create a safe, supportive environment in which you can grow. Together, we rediscover and use your inner strength, without rushing or comparing yourself to anyone else.
